THE BIRTH OF THE ARTIVIST

We asked Mara Niang, Senegalese artist, art therapist and art historian, based in Vienna, to step in front of the camera. When he initially came to Austria, he planned to proceed his career as a painter. However, along the way Mara found himself confronted with misinformation  and misinterpretations of „his story“ – the history of so many others. Mara‘s work became „activist“

as he started focusing on creating awareness on Cultural Appropriation  and Stolen Art from First Nations.”The Birth of the Artivist“ is a dedication honoring all artists (and artists at core) creating more awareness on social  and environmental topics in the most peaceful way for a better together.
